meet Ciara

Shé:kon! Welcome! My name is Ciara Jean Beaton; I am a mixed Kanien'kehá:ka woman and member of the Lower Mohawk First Nation. I am a yoga and movement teacher, thai yoga masseuse and beader. I started teaching in 2011 and have been practicing avidly for two decades. Beyond my first 200 hour Power Yoga Teacher Training in 2011, I have also completed certifications for Yin Yoga, Level 1 Prenatal, Advanced Vinyasa, Level 1 Thai Massage and Acro Yoga {plus countless hours of non-YTT continuing education}. Excitingly, as of 2022 I am also humbled to be a part of several teacher trainings.

With a deep love for self nourishment, mindfulness and movement, I am dedicated to offering a lighthearted, creative and empowering practice for you to fall in love with...a practice that is deliberately designed to encourage you to heal, connect with yourSelf and awaken to exactly how amazing your body, mind and spirit are meant to feel. Weaving sweet pieces of my indigenous culture together with the  traditional teachings of yoga and the importance of functional range conditioning, I strive to provide a warm, safe and nurturing space to all ~ from the beginner yogi to the avid practitioner, young or aging like fine wine, wispy or curvy ~ no matter your age, identity or size...you belong here.

Beyond movement, I have found the reconnection to my culture and creativity through beadwork incredibly healing and inspiring. Each piece that I craft and each bead that I weave - colours and design - have so much intention, love and good thoughts put into them. I'm so excited to share this new offering within my business with you.

When I'm not on my mat, I love every opportunity to enjoy quality time with my loved ones, spend countless hours beading / crafting, love walking barefoot surrounded by the beauty of Mother Earth, getting creative in the kitchen, snuggling with my fur babes {Ona the calico and Kalvin the lop}, sipping coffee, splashing in puddles and {especially nowadays} enjoying a really sweet Netflix binge here and there.
